Humanistic Jewish Cultural School Teachers

MACHAR, the Washington Congregation for Secular Humanistic Judaism is hiring Sunday school teachers for its Jewish Cultural School (JCS) for the 2015-2016 academic year.

This is a two-hour teaching commitment (from 9:45 to 11:45 a.m.) on Sunday mornings from October to May (approximately 2 sessions per month). Teachers are responsible for following the curriculum for each grade and updating parents by email after each session.  Positions are available for grade level teachers.

Qualifications for JCS teachers: teaching experience; comfort with secular humanistic/cultural approach to Jewish studies; and ability to work with children.  All teachers are expected to follow the appropriate grade-level curriculum and update parents by email following each session.

Compensation begins at $80 per session.
